Totally Tactile - Exhibition at Nature in Art

Totally Tactile at Nature in Art, Wallsworth Hall, Gloucester, invites visitors to experience art in a fully hands-on way. This unique exhibition encourages exploration through touch, from smooth wood and cool metal to lifelike animal forms and abstract works.
Sighted visitors will be asked to wear blindfolds, focusing attention on texture and shape, while all are encouraged to slow down and reflect. The display includes pieces from the main collection, the reference library, and special loans brought in for the occasion.
The exhibition also marks the introduction of enhanced accessibility features at the gallery, with audio guides being rolled out across the displays. By September, the majority of objects will include audio descriptions. A limited number of tablets with high-contrast artwork images will also be available, ensuring visually impaired visitors can explore at their own pace.
