Dog Swim at Cheltenham Lido

Annual Dog Swim 2026 returns to Cheltenham Lido, offering a unique ticket-only event where water-loving dogs and their owners can enjoy a splash together in the iconic outdoor pool.
This much-loved Cheltenham event provides the perfect opportunity for dogs to swim in the historic 50 metre pool, while owners and spectators soak up the lively and friendly atmosphere in the heart of Gloucestershire.
Key Information
Entry is strictly by pre-purchased ticket only, with no on-the-day sign-ups available. Spectators are welcome at regular entry prices; however, only registered dogs are permitted on-site.
Participants should arrive 30 minutes before their allocated session time for registration.
Owners may swim alongside their dogs, with water heated to approximately 21°C. Wetsuits are optional. Those unsure of their dog’s swimming ability should be prepared to assist in the pool.
Dogs must remain on leads around the lido grounds and are only permitted off-lead while in the water. Each dog must be accompanied by an individual aged 16 or over.
Owners are asked to bring poo bags and dispose of waste responsibly in general bins to help keep the lawns clean. Outdoor hoses and showers are available for rinsing dogs after their swim. Indoor changing rooms are not accessible to dogs. Fresh water bowls will be provided poolside.
A selection of stalls will be available on-site, offering products for dogs and owners. A raffle will also be held, with prizes including a Lido season ticket and free entry to next year’s Dog Swim.
Lifeguards will be present for human safety; however, owners remain responsible for their dog’s welfare. All participants are required to sign an event disclaimer upon entry.
