Cheltenham Lido Triathlon & Aquathlon

Cheltenham Lido Triathlon & Aquathlon 2026 takes place at Cheltenham Lido, offering one of Cheltenham’s most iconic multisport events in the stunning surroundings of the lido and the scenic Cotswold countryside.
Whether aiming for a personal best or taking on a new challenge, competitors can choose between swim–bike–run or swim–run formats, combining a friendly atmosphere with a professionally managed race experience in Gloucestershire.
Aquathlon
The Aquathlon is a fast-paced swim and run event raising funds for Cheltenham Lido Ltd (Registered charity 1052203). It is designed for competitors aged 15 and over on the Sprint Distance and 17 and over for the Standard Distance who enjoy a personal challenge.
The race begins with a swim in the heated 50 metre outdoor pool, followed by a flat run on pavement, grass and through Sandford Park.
Sprint Distance Aquathlon – 500m Swim & 2.5km Run – 8.45am start
Standard Distance Aquathlon – 1,000m Swim & 5km Run – 8.15am start
Triathlon
The Triathlon welcomes all abilities, from complete novices to experienced club and professional triathletes, as well as charity and fun competitors. Participants must be aged 17 or over.
The swim takes place in the outdoor pool at Cheltenham Lido, with the bike and run routes heading around Cheltenham and through Sandford Park.
Super Sprint Distance Triathlon – 500m Swim, 9.2km Bike, 2.5km Run
Sprint Distance Triathlon – 1,000m Swim, 18.2km Bike, 5km Run
The event requires competitors to hold a valid British Triathlon race licence, either through Core or Ultimate annual membership or by purchasing a single-use Race Pass. Race Passes cost £2 for participants under 24 and £8 for those aged 24 and over.
All start times are subject to change depending on entry numbers and will be confirmed at least one week prior to the event.
