Mother's Day Weekend and Sudeley Castle Opening
Saturday 14 - Sunday 15 March 2026
Mother’s Day Weekend at Sudeley Castle takes place on Saturday 14 March and Sunday 15 March 2026, with Saturday marking the opening day of the 2026 season at Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe.
This Mother’s Day weekend brings together spring garden walks, Tudor history and thoughtful treats for mums, all set within the castle grounds.
Springtime Gardens
Wander through Sudeley’s awakening spring gardens, where bright daffodils, early tulips and magnificent magnolias bring vibrant colour to the landscape. Follow pathways past romantic ruins and formal gardens, or explore quieter corners filled with birdsong and spring wildlife.
A Remarkable Tudor Mother
An engaging talk exploring Queen Katherine Parr as a Tudor mother and stepmother, and her relationships with Henry VIII’s children: Lady Mary, Lady Elizabeth and Prince Edward. Talks take place in the Chapel at 11.30am and 2.30pm on Saturday 14 March and Sunday 15 March.
Castle Coach House Tea Room
On Sunday 15 March, the Castle Coach House hosts a special walk-in tea room from 10am to 3.30pm, serving tea, coffee and homemade cakes. Every mother will receive a complimentary cupcake and a posy of daffodils with their visit.
