The Last Burma Star Exclusive Screening at Imjin Barracks
Wednesday 1 April 2026
A powerful and moving documentary from Sky HISTORY follows veteran explorer Levison Wood and historian Alex Bescoby as they seek out the last surviving veterans of the Burma campaign.
The film explores the experiences of soldiers from the region who fought alongside British and Commonwealth forces against the Japanese during World War II. Through personal accounts and historical insight, the documentary sheds light on a remarkable and often overlooked chapter of wartime history.
Following the screening, historian Rob Lyman leads an engaging discussion reflecting on the experiences of British, Indian and Burmese troops, including the Gurkhas, whose courage and determination played a crucial role in reversing the Japanese advance.
Guests are invited to stay after the discussion for complimentary drinks and nibbles with the panel, hosted by The Gurkha Welfare Trust, offering the opportunity to continue the conversation and reflect on the stories shared during the evening.
