Northanger Abbey at the Everyman Theatre

Jane Austen returns to Everyman Theatre Cheltenham this summer with Northanger Abbey, a joyful romance set between Regency Bath and rural Gloucestershire.
The story follows the naïve Catherine Morland, whose love of Gothic horror novels sends her imagination into overdrive. In her mind, nothing is ever quite what it seems.
Thankfully, Catherine finds a calm and unsentimental suitor in Henry Tilney, although his eccentric family soon brings mystery, manners and mayhem of their own.
From the company behind last year’s successful Sense and Sensibility, this new production of Jane Austen’s earliest major work promises to be light-hearted, funny and just a little bit scary.
