Zaid Hilal Folk-Pop Star of Bethlehem
Wednesday 24 June 2026
Zaid Hilal UK Tour 2026 brings an evening of music, stories and cultural connection.
This powerful live performance features Zaid Hilal, a singer and composer from Bethlehem, whose music carries forward a living Palestinian heritage shaped by memory, everyday life and evolving tradition.
Blending folk roots with modern sonic storytelling, Zaid Hilal weaves field recordings and voices from elders into songs that feel intimate, expansive and deeply moving.
The evening will also feature storyteller and trumpet player Michael Loader, who first met Zaid Hilal in Palestine in 2018 through Bristol-based Chai For All during a British Council tour exploring the legacy of the 1917 Balfour Declaration.
Together, Zaid Hilal and Michael Loader create a unique performance of Palestinian folk-pop, storytelling, remembered songs of resistance, wonder, wit and wisdom from Palestine and the wider Arabic world.
Part concert, part storytelling and part collective memory, this special evening promises to be moving, uplifting and thought-provoking.
Audiences can expect an immersive experience that bridges cultures through music, memory and shared stories, creating a powerful and memorable evening.
