Summer Holiday Activities at Nature in Art
Children can enjoy six weeks of creative summer holiday fun at Nature in Art at Wallsworth Hall near Gloucester. These popular art and craft activities take place in the Education Centre and gardens, offering a fantastic opportunity for young visitors to get creative, explore nature and learn new skills.
Suitable for children aged 3+, all materials are provided. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Morning sessions run from 10am to 11.30am and afternoon sessions from 1pm to 2.30pm unless otherwise stated.
Tuesday 4 August
Yoga and Magic Wands
After enjoying yoga games in the garden, children will create magical wands using natural materials, wool and decorative craft supplies.
Wednesday 5 August
Mystery Mess Workshop!
Four surprise art stations could include painting, collage, sewing, printing and more, allowing children to explore a variety of creative activities.
Thursday 6 August
Sewing a Hand Puppet
Children can create their own hand puppet using felt and simple sewing techniques, following a template or inventing their own design.
Friday 7 August
Beautiful Batik
Using hot wax and fabric dyes, participants will create colourful and unique batik fabric artwork.

Yoga and Pinecone Creations
A combination of outdoor yoga fun and imaginative pinecone crafts using a variety of materials.
Wednesday 12 August
Suncatchers
Children will create colourful bug-inspired suncatchers designed to brighten any window.
Thursday 13 August
Fabric Decoration Weaving
Using different fabrics and materials, children will make decorative woven wall hangings.
Friday 14 August
Van Gogh's Sunflowers
Inspired by the famous artist, children will create striking sunflower artwork using a variety of papers and materials.
Tuesday 18 August
Yoga and Zentangles
Following a relaxing yoga session, children will create mindful zentangle artwork using simple drawing techniques.
Wednesday 19 August
Mystery Mess Workshop!
Another chance to enjoy four mystery creative activities with plenty of opportunities for imaginative art making.
Thursday 20 August
Junk Modelling Robot
Children will transform recycled materials into imaginative robot creations.
Friday 21 August
Aboriginal Inspired Animal Art
Using dot painting techniques inspired by Aboriginal art, children will create colourful Australian animal artwork.
Monday 24 August
Nature Mobile
Children will create salt dough shapes and decorate them with natural materials to produce a beautiful hanging mobile.
Tuesday 25 August
Yoga and Shaving Foam Art
Yoga games are followed by a colourful and messy shaving foam marbling art activity.
Wednesday 26 August
Tissue Paper Bowls
Using tissue paper, glue and moulds, children will create decorative bowls full of colour and texture.
Thursday 27 August
Beautiful Batik
A final opportunity during the summer to explore batik techniques using wax and fabric dyes.
