Orchestral Christmas Concert at Berkeley Castle

Enjoy a magical evening of classical music at Berkeley Castle as the much-loved Orchestral Christmas Concert returns to the magnificent Great Hall.
Launched in 2002, this festive concert has become a Christmas tradition at the Castle. Guests can begin the evening with a reception in the beautiful Long Drawing Room, with wine, mince pies and seasonal refreshments, before taking their seats for the concert surrounded by twinkling lights and Christmas trees.
Orchestra Pro Anima, directed by Michael Bochmann, will perform a varied programme of Baroque, Classical and Romantic favourites. Highlights include works by Mozart, Vivaldi, Corelli, Beethoven, Mendelssohn and Borodin, together with Carol of the Bells and Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride.
The programme includes:
- Mozart – Divertimento in D major K136
- Vivaldi – Concerto for Two Violins in A minor RV 522
- Corelli – Concerto Grosso in G minor Op 6 No 8 ‘Christmas Concerto’
Interval
- Beethoven – Romance No 2 in F major Op 50
- Mendelssohn – String Symphony No 10 in B minor
- Borodin – Nocturne
- Leontovych – Carol of the Bells
Anderson – Sleigh Ride
Refreshments will be served during the interval.
