The Scarecrow's Wedding: 5 October
A joyful forest wedding celebration. Children can step into the world of Julia Donaldson by creating paper flowers for Betty's bouquet and help build the wedding arch. They'll gather crops for the harvest feast, learn simple folk dances and wrap natural treasures as gifts for the happy cpouple.
Mini Foresters at Batsford Arboretum is a fun outdoor forest school experience for children aged 2 to 6 in the Cotswolds, offering hands-on nature activities, woodland play and discovery.
Led by Mini Mudders, these stay-and-play sessions encourage little ones to explore the outdoors through activities that may include den building, bug hunts, woodland crafts, mud kitchen play, balance challenges, tool whittling and campfire fun with toasted marshmallows.
Sessions run in all weather, with a heated shelter available on colder days. Families meet in the top car park by the Mini Foresters sign before taking a short walk to the forest school site.
All staff are qualified group leaders, first aid trained and DBS checked. Children remain the responsibility of their grown-ups throughout the session.
