Children’s February Half Term Activities at Nature in Art
Tuesday 17 – Friday 20 February 2026
Nature in Art at Wallsworth Hall is the world’s first museum and art gallery dedicated to art inspired by nature. During school holiday periods, Nature in Art runs creative, hands-on art activities for children of all ages, designed to inspire imagination and artistic confidence.
This February half term, children are invited to take part in a programme of engaging workshops themed around trees and flowers, combining creativity, colour and plenty of fun
Tuesday 17 February – Yoga and Pancake Day Art
The session begins with gentle yoga games and movement to get bodies active and energised. The second half focuses on creative fun, as children cut and stick their own dream pancake toppings to produce playful pancake-inspired artwork. (see times via link below)
Wednesday 18 February – Warm & Cool Paper Weaving
Children will explore the colour wheel, learning about warm and cool colours while creating abstract watercolour artwork. Extra watercolour techniques will be introduced before the finished pieces are cut and transformed into intricate woven paper designs.
Thursday 19 February – Mixed Media Winter Collage
Using a wide range of materials including tissue paper, paint, buttons, Christmas cards, string and cardboard, children will create textured winter scenes packed with colour, layers and creativity.
Friday 20 February – Paper Mâché Hot Air Balloon
A lively, hands-on session where children can get messy creating bright and colourful hot air balloons. Using papier mâché to form the base, each balloon is then decorated with vibrant paper and tissue for a joyful final piece.
These creative half term workshops at Nature in Art offer a fantastic opportunity for children to explore different artistic techniques in an inspiring setting at Wallsworth Hall.
