Cotswold Farm Park raises £1,346 for Food Bank
Visitors Raise £1,346 for Food Bank While Digging for Spuds
At the start of September, Cotswold Farm Park opened its Potato Patch to visitors and invited everyone to get digging… both in the field and into their pockets! An extra donation to the North Cotswold Food Bank bought you an extra bag to fill with spuds, or visitors could drop loose change into the charity pots at the field.
“The response from the public was fantastic,” says the Farm Park’s Commercial Manager, Emma Hartwell. “Within a few days of opening the patch, this year’s donations had amounted to more than we raised in the whole event period last year. The final total at the end was £1,346.”
Farmer and TV presenter Adam Henson runs Cotswold Farm Park in Guiting Power with his business partner Duncan Andrews and this week visited the North Cotswold Food Bank to deliver the good news and find out first-hand how the donation would be put to good use.
“I’ve lived and worked in the Cotswolds all my life, so to be able to assist the foodbank in some way is great. Of course though, it’s our visitors who need thanking the most, it’s because of their generosity that we’ve managed to raise this money.” – Adam Henson
“Almost £1400 is incredible! And because we can only store ambient groceries, financial donations like this mean we can connect with local butchers and greengrocers to provide fresh food for our clients. It’s such an important part of what we do and this donation is going to help so much.” – Kevin, Manager of North Cotswold Food Bank
