Lechlade Festival expecting record numbers!

Lechlade Music Festival organisers are expecting record numbers at this weekend’s 3 day event. Now in its seventh year, the award-winning festival has grown into a much anticipated bank holiday activity for families and music lovers.
“We’ve seen the festival grow from a few hundred people to several thousand”, says Festival Director and founder Jennie Rainsford. “Sales have shot up this year and the fabulous weekend weather forecast has prompted even more sales in the last few days. We’re expecting a record turn-out.”
Indie band The Hoosiers, R & B legends Dr. Feelgood and Mod band The Lambrettas headline at this year’s festival, along with over 100 bands, performers and DJs on 4 stages.
A late addition to the programme is the new Comedy Stage, which on Sunday features Australian comedy star Colin Cole. “The new stage is being hosted by Cheltenham based comedy troupe Knowing Smirk. It’s a brilliant addition, our festival-goers are going to be spoilt for choice!” says Jennie.
A new Dance Music Zone will feature over 20 top DJs, some of whom are flying in from Europe just to play at Lechlade.
The festival runs from Friday 26th May to Sunday 28th May at the picturesque Riverside Park in Lechlade, alongside the River Thames.
Tickets are on sale online until Thursday at 9pm and thereafter on the gate. Camping is available from Friday to Monday. Kids 16 & under go free and lucky locals benefit from discounted advance tickets. Find out more on the website at www.lechladefestival.co.uk.
