The Launch!
The launch of Explore Gloucestershire's website on 7th April 2006 was a move by CDS Publications to promote Gloucestershire - to help the people who live here keep an eye on what's happening and to re-aquaint them with what their great county has to offer, as well as increasing awareness to visitors to Royal Gloucestershire.
Language not a problem!
With it's multi-lingula option, overseas visitors can get much more of an insight to the area, holding Gloucestershire in higher standing than other parts of the United Kingdom.

If you have an event you wish to promote or any hot news that you feel would benefit Gloucestershire then please tell us. We regularly update the site for Events & News so please feel free to do so.
What's Next?
In future months we will be expanding, regularly updating and constantly improving the site with more features, including interactive maps, downloadable walks and things to do. A photo gallery of Gloucestershire is currently being prepared with the help of our Photography Competition, whereby you have the chance to impress the whole of the world with your creative eye and ability - there's even a chance to gain financial royalties!
New pages will be added highlighting towns, villages and a whole section promoting the wonderful Severn Vale is being created and will be launched later in the year. An on-line shop will also be added in the Autumn, offering various gifts of the county - just in time for Christmas!
Each month we will be holding competitions with many prizes to be won, including a chance to win a state of the art Satellite Navigation System in our end of year prize draw - open to everyone who enters any of our competitions!
