VE80 Celebration Weekend at Berkeley Castle
Berkeley Castle invites visitors to a memorable weekend of wartime nostalgia this May Bank Holiday
To mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day, Berkeley Castle will host a spectacular VE80 Celebration Weekend on Sunday 4th and Monday 5th May, promising two unforgettable days filled with music, history, and family-friendly entertainment.
Guests will be transported back to the spirit of 1945 with live performances from members of the D-Day Darlings, stars of Britain’s Got Talent, delivering stirring renditions of iconic wartime songs. Also gracing the grounds will be a captivating Winston Churchill impersonator, offering a rousing reminder of Britain’s wartime resilience.
History comes alive with WW2 re-enactments, a traditional Field Kitchen, and Women’s Home Front Displays showcasing the challenges and triumphs of daily life during the war. Visitors will also have the chance to explore a special exhibition detailing Berkeley Castle’s wartime role, giving fascinating insight into the Castle's own contribution to the national effort.
