Everyman Theatre Unveils Star-Studded 2025 Season: John Cleese, Stacey Dooley, and UK Premieres Take Centre Stage
Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre has announced an exciting new season of entertainment for the second half of 2025, featuring a stellar lineup of celebrity appearances, West End sensations, thrilling new productions, and festive family favourites.
Among the highlights are the UK premieres of three brand-new shows:
- The Talented Mr Ripley (4 – 13 September) – a psychological thriller making its world-premiere in Cheltenham.
- The Battle (14 – 18 April 2026) – a comedy exploring the iconic Britpop rivalry of Blur and Oasis.
- Friends! The Musical (7 – 11 October) – a hilarious parody celebrating the beloved TV series.
Other must-see productions include:
- 2:22 A Ghost Story (20 – 25 October) starring Kevin Clifton and Stacey Dooley.
- Picture You Dead (27 – 31 May), a gripping crime thriller by Peter James, featuring Ore Oduba, Fiona Wade, and George Rainsford.
- North by Northwest (3 – 7 June), a stage adaptation of Hitchcock’s thriller, reimagined by Emma Rice and Wise Children.
- By Royal Appointment (17 – 21 June), exploring Queen Elizabeth II’s life through her wardrobe, starring Anne Reid, Caroline Quentin, James Dreyfus, and James Wilby.
Comedy legend John Cleese will grace the Everyman stage with An Audience with John Cleese (14 – 15 July), sharing tales from his illustrious career with his trademark wit.
To mark Jane Austen’s 250th anniversary, Sense and Sensibility (23 – 26 July) will delight audiences with a fresh adaptation co-produced with Worcester Repertory Company.
Agatha Christie fans can look forward to Death on the Nile (3 – 7 February 2026), a suspenseful mystery featuring Hercule Poirot.
Dance enthusiasts can enjoy Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker (2 – 4 October) with live orchestral accompaniment.
Family entertainment includes:
- King Arthur (17 – 19 July) – a summer holiday comedy adventure by Le Navet Bete and John Nicholson.
- Christmas 2025 festivities with the annual pantomime Robin Hood and His Merry Men (28 November – 11 January), starring Tweedy the Clown.
- Studio shows The Little Mermaid (28 November – 3 January) and A Dickens Christmas (4 December – 3 January), both performed by Black Hound Productions.
