REVIEW: Ice Skating at Cheltenham Ice Rink 2025
Get your skates on and head on over to Cheltenham Ice Rink!
The ice rink at Imperial Gardens in Cheltenham town centre is such a brilliant festive spot. It’s in a perfect location too — right in the middle of town — so it’s really easy to head for food or drinks before or after your skate.
The rink itself is fully under cover, which was a relief on a drizzly day, and the whole place feels really Christmassy with fun lighting and festive music. The staff were genuinely lovely, and there were always at least two helpers on the ice offering support to anyone who needed it.
Skate hire was straightforward and they go up to size 15, which is ideal for families or groups. There are inclusive skate sessions, and plenty of penguin skate aids for children or anyone learning — they were definitely popular! Lockers at the entrance made storing bags really easy too.
The onsite café was a nice bonus, especially the hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows — definitely a favourite. Overall, it’s a great festive activity and a lovely way to spend time in Cheltenham during the Christmas season.
