Walking The Cotswold Way In Winter – Broadway & The Tower

Walking The Cotswold Way in winter

Walking The Cotswold Way This Winter | Walk 2: Broadway & The Tower

Walking the Cotswold Way in winter offers a very different perspective on one of England’s most loved long-distance routes. With fewer walkers on the trail, crisp air underfoot and far-reaching panoramic views, the landscape feels calmer and more expansive. Bare trees open up viewpoints often hidden in warmer months, while winter wildlife and changing skies add a sense of quiet drama to each stage.

Stretching across rolling hills, historic villages and classic Cotswold countryside, the route is rewarding at any time of year, but winter brings a special clarity. From the elevated views around Broadway Tower to frost-tipped fields and golden stone villages below, the season is ideal for reflective walks, shorter sections, and exploring at a gentler pace without the crowds of spring and summer.
