Crucifixion Exhibition Nature in Art Gloucester May and June 2026
Powerful wildlife exhibition Crucifixion arrives at Nature in Art this spring
A striking new exhibition is set to open at Nature in Art near Gloucester, as internationally acclaimed artist Darrell Warner presents Crucifixion. Running from 12 May to 21 June 2026, the collection explores the fragile balance between humanity and the natural world through a series of thought-provoking watercolours.
Warner’s work focuses on British birdlife, capturing subjects that have been lost due to everyday human impact. From roadside incidents to window strikes, each painting reflects a moment often overlooked, encouraging visitors to pause and reflect on the wider consequences of modern living.
Created during the stillness of the 2020 lockdown, the exhibition began as a personal response to encountering fallen birds in the local area. What followed became a wider artistic journey, documenting species from the familiar blackbird to more elusive wildlife, each portrayed with sensitivity and detail.
Crucifixion is both visually arresting and deeply reflective, offering a unique perspective on conservation, loss and awareness. Set within the peaceful surroundings of Nature in Art, the exhibition invites visitors to engage with nature in a different and meaningful way.
