Young performers in Tewkesbury can learn from West End stars at The Roses
The Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury is giving local young performers the chance to work with leading theatre professionals through its new In Rehearsal With workshop series. Featuring Obioma Ugoala, Sofia Gallucci and Derek Bond, the sessions offer a unique opportunity to gain insight into the rehearsal process while building confidence, creativity and performance skills.
Three workshops are planned across spring and early summer, each led by an acclaimed industry name. On 26 April, Obioma Ugoala - known for Hamilton, Frozen, Motown and Hamnet - will guide performers through vocal technique, musical storytelling and character development. Director Sofia Gallucci follows on 1 May, bringing experience from productions including SIX and Coven to help young actors make bold and authentic choices in performance.
The final workshop on 12 June will be led by Derek Bond, The Roses’ Olivier Award-winning Artistic Director, who will focus on experimentation, collaboration and working as a group to build a production. Together, Obioma Ugoala, Sofia Gallucci and Derek Bond provide young performers with a rare opportunity to learn directly from leading theatre professionals.
By bringing West End and national theatre talent to the heart of Tewkesbury, The Roses continues to create exciting opportunities for young people with a passion for performance.
