Nature in Art events

Inspire young imaginations this summer with six weeks of creative art, craft and yoga activities at Nature in Art

Looking for fun, creative ways to keep the children entertained during the school holidays? Nature in Art has a fantastic programme of hands-on workshops running throughout the summer, with activities designed for children aged three and above.

From painting and clay modelling to sewing, wet felting and yoga, there's something different to enjoy every week, all inspired by nature, famous artists and plenty of imagination.

Six Weeks of Creative Fun

21 July – 27 August 2026

Children can enjoy an exciting variety of art and craft sessions including cave paintings, treasure maps, nature wet felting, Monet-inspired waterlilies, clay rocket launchers, recycled magazine art, watercolour workshops, sewing hand puppets, batik, suncatchers, fabric weaving, Van Gogh's Sunflowers, Zentangles, junk modelling robots, Aboriginal-inspired animal art, tissue paper bowls and much more.

Many Tuesday sessions also include fun children's yoga, combining movement, games and creativity for the perfect holiday activity.

Something Different Every Week

Each week brings a fresh programme of activities, giving children the chance to learn new skills, experiment with different materials and take home their own handmade creations. Popular Mystery Mess Workshops also return, encouraging young artists to explore a range of surprise creative activities.

Everything You Need to Know

Activities take place in the Education Centre and Garden and are suitable for children aged 3+. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Morning sessions run from 10.00am – 11.30am and afternoon sessions from 1.00pm – 2.30pm.

All materials are provided and prices include entry to the activity plus museum admission for one child and one accompanying adult. Places are limited, so advance booking is essential.

Children are encouraged to wear old clothes or bring an apron as many of the activities can get wonderfully messy!

Young Artist Hub

Older children aged 11+ can also discover inspiring creative opportunities through Nature in Art's Young Artist Hub, offering activities designed especially for aspiring young artists.
