Young nature lovers can enjoy a summer of discovery as The Big Batsford Butterfly Hunt returns to Batsford Arboretum from Saturday 11 July until Wednesday 2 September 2026.
Perfect for families visiting during the school holidays, this colourful trail invites children to search for butterflies hidden throughout the beautiful arboretum while learning fascinating facts about these important pollinators along the way.
Each participating child receives a trail map from the Admissions Desk to guide them around the gardens, following clues and spotting butterflies as they explore one of Gloucestershire's most picturesque outdoor attractions.
A summer adventure for all the family in the Cotswolds
With stunning woodland walks, colourful planting and plenty of open space to explore, Batsford Arboretum provides the perfect setting for a family day out. The butterfly hunt adds an extra layer of fun, encouraging children to discover more about the natural world while enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
Every child who completes the trail will receive a small prize to celebrate their butterfly-spotting success.
