Latest news from Frightmare at Over Farm

A frightfully funny and scary time for all the family is promised at Over Farm Market near Gloucester this Halloween.

‘Frightmare’ will be taking place at the farm from Saturday 24th - Saturday 31st October and will include ‘Frightfully Funny’ activities during the day and ‘Frightfully Scary’ activities in the evening. A percentage of the profits from the event will be donated to a local charity.

‘Frightfully funny’ will include attractions such as the new and exciting ‘Spooky’s Ghost Hunt’ where you can search for Spooky’s friends in a treasure hunt. You can take a trailer ride to the pumpkin patch to choose a pumpkin before carving your very own Jack O’ Lantern or take a trip on the quad train rides. Children will be able to have a go on the rides and inflatables available and on both of the Saturday’s they can even take part in a fancy dress competition hosted by Star FM and be in with the chance of winning a prize. There will be refreshments available.

The farm will be transformed from ‘Frightfully Funny’ during the day to ‘Frightfully Scary’ at night. Attractions will be designed to test the nerves of everyone brave enough to go along. As well as the infamous haunted hayride, which will have an Asylum theme this year you will also get the chance to visit The Mausoleum, to meet the ghosts and ghouls that won’t lay down to rest and bring 1,800 square feet of terror to the farm. You will also be able to choose a pumpkin, have a drink and grab a bite to eat off the BBQ.

Rob Keene, owner of Over Farm Market said “Over Farm has been running the haunted hayride for ten years this year and it has always proved to be a real success, you may have taken the trip into terror in the past, but you’ve never seen anything like this before!’’

Sue Keene, Owner of Over Farm Market added “It’s nice to have a variety of activities going on so that the whole family can get involved.”

Rob and Sue are trustees of the Old Spot Trust which was set up in 2007 to help local charities and good causes in Gloucestershire. A percentage of the proceeds from ‘Frightmare’ will help boots its funds.

“It is wonderful to be able to raise money through events like this where everyone thoroughly enjoys themselves,” said Rob.

“The important thing about Frightmare is that local people will be able to have fun knowing that some of the profits will be given back to Gloucestershire’s people, animals, wildlife and environment.”

Tickets are available from www.frightmare.co.uk or you can purchase them from the Over Farm Shop during normal opening hours, alternatively call and book on 01452 521014.
