Howlers - a great night out!

Cole Parker - Comedy in Cheltenham with Howlers Comedy Club Howlers returned to the Wheatsheaf in Cheltenham for its third sell-out show on 21 April. The line-up that night was Matt Kirshen, Ben Harrington and Cole Parker. Howlers favourite John Robins also returned as MC.

After a brilliant intro from the wonderful John Robins, the night kicked off with Matt Kirshen who put in a solid thirty minute support slot. Ben Harrington stepped up for the open spot and was clearly at ease with the audience. His material went down well with the crowd and he's with doubt developing a really good act. Definitely a name to watch out for in the future so remember where you saw him first!

Cole Parker headlined the night with a high energy 45 minute set which went down a storm with the Howlers regulars.

Having seen all the Howlers shows so far the one thing that stands out is the consistency of the comedy they deliver. They never compromise the quality of their acts and it seems that their belief in the fact that they can quickly build a regular audience if they invest in high quality acts appears to being paying dividends.

Promotor Paul says " We are really pleased with what we have achieved so far. We have always believed that if you put the right kind of comedy on the stage then the audience will come back for more. We are still quite a well kept secret but once people realise that there is a great Saturday night to be had every month at Howlers and we will go from strength to strength."

Explore Gloucestershire were fairly new to the comedy scene until we came across Howlers - and now we are totally converted. Comedy shows like this offer the audience two hours of escapism where you find yourself caught up in the 'world according to' the comic on stage. It is fair to say that you will like some acts more than others but with up to four acts on the Bill on any one night, you are sure to find someone who finds your funny-bone. At £10 a pop this is a great value night out.

The May show features a headline performance from TV favourite Rob Deering with all the usual support. Another sell-out is anticipated so get your tickets early. Apparently he is unmissable - watch this space for the May review!
