Brass Monkey Swim at Cheltenham Lido

On Sunday 6th January the very first Brass Monkey Swim took place at Sandford Parks Lido.
Whilst the annual Christmas Day Swim offers the chance to have a quick splash in the cold water this event is a swimming race with distances of 500m and 1km (10 lengths or 20 lengths). 14 hardy swimmers took part and “enjoyed’ the experience of this new event. The 500m race winners were Matt Boon and Helen Hanks. The 1km race winners were Richard Searle and Kim Owen.
Full results can be found on the website – www.sandfordparkslido.org.uk/e21-brass-monkey-swim.html
Participants have already expressed a desire for this to become an annual event at the lido.
