CONGRATULATIONS: Photo competition winner receives prizes

The Gloucestershire at its Best Photography Competition has always been very popular with hundreds of enthusiastic photographers of all ages.
The brief, as it states in the name of the competition, is to submit photographs that capture the true essence of Gloucestershire. Whether a scenic photograph of a quintessential Cotswold village, flowers and fauna in a Forest of Dean wooded glade, architecture of Cheltenham, action shots of one of the many festivals and shows in the county, or as the winning photo for the 2012 competition, an atmospheric, night time scene of Gloucester Docks.
The standard as usual was very high, but our competition sponsors Stagecoach West Buses chose the winning photograph.
On Thursday 11 April, 2013, Phill Emery, the winner of the 2012 Explore Gloucestershire at its Best Photography Competition met with competition sponsors Stagecoach West at Gloucester Docks to receive his prize.
Phill, an IT Engineer who lives in Gloucester, was presented with his cheque for £250 by Nathan Griffith-Williams, Marketing Manager of Stagecoach West. Also present was Sebastian Stanley of the Bigger Printing Company, a Cheltenham based company who specialise in bigger and bespoke printing requirements to suit all demands. Sebastian handed over a large format canvas print of the winning photograph, worth over £100.
Phill, 34 said, "I enjoy visiting places to create interesting and unusual images of landscapes. I also like creating portraits and candid images of people. The camera can sometimes capture moments we miss with our eyes".
The 2013 photography competition will be returning soon, so get snapping for your chance of winning £250 and a large format canvas print. This year there will be additional prizes for the best photograph for each Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter images of Gloucestershire.
