Trial Flights with The Flying Shack

Take a trial flight with the Flying Shack and experience just what it's like to be a pilot!

Trial flights are for any age, as long as you are under 100kg and are mobile enough to climb in and out of the cockpit with assistance.  Then, as long as you can reach the flight controls and can understand the basic flight briefing given to you by the instructor, you can try your hand at the controls, flying the aircraft!  The Flying Shack's trial lessons require no previous experience, knowledge or follow-ups, though of course you may want to follow your first flight up with more!

However if you or someone you know is thinking about learning, this is definitely the first step to take. Give it a try and see how you feel in the aeroplane, you will almost certainly return to earth with a broad smile on your face!

The trial lesson flight

The Flying Shack trial lessons start with a brief introduction by your instructor on how the plane functions, how the controls work in their basic sense and of course a safety briefing.

The pre-flight brief lasts for about 15 minutes, then you're off, down to check the aircraft prior to your flight. The instructor tells you what is happening from start to finish, and you'll have the opportunity to ask questions. It's polite to let the instructor to do the takeoff though...

Once in the air and levelled off, the basic knowledge given to you on the ground gives you an understanding of what is happening in the air - so you will quickly understand what your instructor is doing when you see him demonstrating how to control the aeroplane.

Then he will hand over to you with the magic words "You Have Control"!   And you'll be flying the aircraft!
