Dog Swim at Cheltenham Lido

The much-loved Annual Dog Swim returns to Cheltenham Lido, offering a unique, ticket-only event where water-loving dogs and their owners can dive into fun together. This special occasion provides the perfect opportunity for dogs to enjoy a splash in the iconic outdoor pool, while owners and spectators soak up the lively atmosphere.
Key Information:
- Tickets: Entry is strictly by pre-purchased tickets, with no on-the-day sign-ups available. Spectators are welcome at regular entry prices, but only registered dogs are permitted on-site.
- Arrival: Participants should arrive 30 minutes before their allocated entry time for registration.
- Dog Safety: Owners may swim alongside their dogs (wetsuits optional) in water heated to approximately 21°C. Those unsure of their dog’s swimming ability should be prepared to assist in the pool.
- Rules:
- Dogs must remain on leads around the lido grounds and are only permitted off-lead in the water.
- Each dog must be accompanied by an individual aged 16 or over.
- Clean-Up: Owners are asked to bring poo bags (with extras available at reception) and dispose of waste in general bins to help maintain the cleanliness of the lawns.
- Post-Swim Care:
- Outdoor hoses and showers are available for rinsing dogs after their swim.
- Indoor changing rooms are off-limits to dogs.
- Fresh water bowls will be provided poolside, though owners may bring their own.
Extras:
- A range of stalls will be on-site, offering unique items for dogs and owners (cash and card accepted).
- A raffle will be held with prizes including a Lido season ticket and free entry to next year’s dog swim.
Safety Notice: Lifeguards will be present to ensure human safety, but owners are responsible for their dog’s welfare. All participants must sign an event disclaimer upon entry.
