The Disgusting Sandwich Trail at Painswick Rococo Garden

Saturday 5 July - Monday 8 September 2025

Squishy, sluggy, goopy, smelly, sandy… and fantastically fun!
Families are invited to enjoy a gloriously silly summer at Painswick Rococo Garden with The Disgusting Sandwich interactive trail. Based on the popular children’s book by Gareth Edwards and illustrated by local artist Hannah Shaw this imaginative garden adventure leads children through the enchanting 18th-century landscape in search of peculiar, playful, and positively revolting items to build their very own disgusting sandwich.

Led by Badger and his animal friends, the trail promises plenty of giggles, surprises, and messy fun—perfect for a family day out in Gloucestershire.

With beautiful historic gardens to explore and the added excitement of a themed trail, this is an ideal way to get children outdoors and entertained during the school holidays.

Beyond the bee-themed trail, visitors can enjoy:

  • Getting lost in the quirky garden maze
  • Discovering hidden Georgian follies
  • Indulging in delicious refreshments, including light lunches, freshly baked cakes, and barista-style coffee (absolutely no slugs included!)

Painswick Rococo Garden offers free parking, welcomes dogs on short leads, and requires no advance booking—making it the perfect spontaneous spring day out for families.
