Step into history this September as Gloucester History Festival returns for another unforgettable year.
For the 15th year, Gloucester comes alive with an intriguing programme of 200 talks, exhibitions, tours and entertainment taking place across the city.
The final week of festivities runs from Saturday 13 to Sunday 21 September at the stunning 13th century Blackfriars Priory. Here, audiences can hear from over 100 speakers including Frank Skinner, Alice Roberts, Celia Imrie, Alan Johnson, Michael Heseltine, Tracy Borman, Lyse Doucet, Greg Jenner, Peter Frankopan, Olivette Otele and David Olusoga. Come for a talk, stay for the magic of Blackfriars!
Alongside the headline events, the festival spans the ancient city with a mouthwatering line-up. Highlights include the unique tradition of Gloucester Day, the completely free Heritage Open Days programme, and the much-loved Blackfriars Talks, plus entertainment, exhibitions and refreshments in the magical priory setting. For those who can’t make it in person, the digital Blackfriars Talks programme is also available livestreamed or on demand at home.
