Fairport Convention at The Roses Theatre

Fairport Convention have been entertaining music lovers for over half a century, having formed in 1967. During that time, the band that launched British folk-rock has seen many changes, but one thing has always remained the same – Fairport Convention’s passion for performance.
This year’s Spring Tour presents a mix of long-established Fairport Convention favourites alongside some surprises from albums old and new. Winners of a BBC Lifetime Achievement Award, the band also saw Radio 2 listeners vote their ground-breaking album Liege & Lief as The Most Influential Folk Album of All Time. Their remarkable story has been celebrated in television documentaries on BBC Four and Sky Arts.
The current line-up features founding member Simon Nicol on guitar and vocals, Dave Pegg on bass guitar, Ric Sanders on violin, and Chris Leslie on fiddle, mandolin and vocals. The band is joined on stage by former member Dave Mattacks on drums, adding even more depth to this iconic live performance. Special guest Jenn Butterworth, an award-winning folk musician, joins the tour to complete an unforgettable evening of British folk-rock excellence.
