Sandford Park Lido: 2 Peaks 1 Pool Challenge

Sandford Park Lido: 2 Peaks 1 Pool Challenge

Introducing a brand new team challenge raising funds for both Maggie’s Cheltenham and  Sandford Parks Lido. 2 Peaks 1 Pool on Sunday 8th June combines a walk or run from Sandford Park Lido to two checkpoints on picturesque hills surrounding Cheltenham, providing beautiful views across the Severn vale, followed by a refreshing swim back at the Lido.

Iain Barton, Events Manager from Sandford Parks Lido, said “We are all very excited about this new challenge. You can walk or run from the lido to Cleeve Hill and then on to Leckhampton Hill, or the other way around, your choice, then return to the lido for an 8 length (400m) swim. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on this great fun day experience for groups of family and friends.”

To enter each team must consist of a minimum of three individuals who walk/run and finish together. There will be checkpoints on both hills where each team member’s cards will be stamped.  Once you’ve climbed both hills your team returns to the Lido where each team member must swim eight lengths of the main Lido pool.  Team finishing times will be recorded when the last member of each team completes their swim.  The event starts at 9.30am and teams must be finished by 7.30pm.

Entry is just £9 per adult / £6 per child (age 8-16), and can be completed online at www.entrycentral.com/2peaks1pool

Anna Mason, from Maggie’s, said: “This is a great way to test your endurance and take part in a terrific challenge. We would like to wish everybody taking part the very best of luck and thanks for your support of both Maggie’s and Sandford Parks Lido.”

If you would like to find out more about Maggie’s we hold a Maggie’s Welcome Experience on the last Wednesday of every month at 5.30pm for one hour at the centre on College Baths Road, Cheltenham GL53 7QB. Come along, have a cup of tea and experience your Maggie’s Centre. See for yourself how we can make a difference for people with cancer in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
