Get digging at Cotswold Farm Park’s Potato Patch!
The fun never stops at Cotswold Farm Park. The wonderfully whimsical Wonderland themed Maize Maze closes for the summer on the 2nd September and the Potato Patch opens the very next day.
Visitors can be farmers for the day and forage for their own bag of potatoes to take home. A range of tools, wheelbarrows and trugs will be available to help with the dig. There will be two types of white potatoes to harvest, Picasso and Orla. Both varieties are well suited for a wide range of culinary uses. The Farm Park will also provide an array of a-peeling potato recipes and craft ideas.
In preparation for the event, a whopping 10,000 seed potatoes were planted back in May. Once the event finishes in October, pigs from the Farm will be let loose on the Potato Patch to tidy up all the unharvested tubers.
To coincide with the Potato Patch, the Farm Park are running a competition to win Membership for one whole year! To be in with a chance of winning, submit a selfie with a potato on social media and tag the photo with #spudselfie. The competition closes on the 7th October.
The Potato Patch is open daily from 3rd September until the 7th October and all activities and the bag of potatoes are included in the cost of admission.
The Cotswold Farm is open every day until the 24th December. Opening hours are 10.30am – 5.00pm.
