HERITAGE OPEN DAYS: Free admission at Dean Heritage Centre this weekend

Heritage Open Days 2009

Dean Heritage Centre will be throwing its doors open to the public this weekend as part of Heritage Open Days, a national event that celebrates England's culture by offering free access to properties that usually charge for admission.

As well as access to the museum galleries that tell the story of the Forest from prehistory to the present day, and all of the living history features that make the Centre so special such as the Foresters¹ Cottage and Victorian School Room, visitors will be able to have-a-go at traditional games such as hoopla and horseshoe pitching, a duck race in Soudley brook, and dowsing with the Centre's own archaeology experts.

Over twenty other attractions are participating in Heritage Open Days in the Forest and surrounding area, so why not make a credit crunch busting day out of it?
