Cottage of the Week: The Old School House, Lower Swell

Have you booked your family summer holiday this year yet?
Do you fancy a break away in the heart of the Cotswolds?
Then treat your family to a stay at this quintessential Cotswold gem - the Old School House at Lower Swell - in fact it's the perfect location for 2 or 3 families!
The Old School House is a traditional, detached, stone house (whole of house in photograph) in the conservation area of the quiet, unspoilt village of Lower Swell. Originally built in 1869 for the village school mistress, the house has been renovated, having interiors which are both pretty and contemporary.
The holiday property boasts a selection of delightful interior and exterior features which make it an individual and unique choice. These include a beautiful old stone fireplace, original walk-in pantry, romantic bathroom with clawfoot bath and stone fireplace, not to mention its pretty bedrooms with French cotton bed linen. The curtains and fabrics are by Designers Guild, Colefax & Fowler and Liberty.
The tranquil garden with Cotswold stone walling, shady woodland area, and terrace overlooking the lawn with herbaceous borders, has distant views towards Stow church. The Donnington Way and Heart of England Way run along the nearby lane providing marvellous walking in peaceful countryside, yet the house is only 1 mile from the inns and restaurants of Stow-on-the-Wold, a pleasant stroll using the recently constructed Millennium footpath. Shops 1 mile, pub 500 yards.
