REVIEW: The Crocodile's Gift at The Everyman Theatre
The Crocodile's Gift is an act of story-telling in its true form. With three actors, six characters, seamless costume changes, and a familiar plot, this hour long show takes children along a magical moral journey into the unknown.
Through the ingenious use of vibrant flowing sarongs, clever lighting, and instrumental drums and rain sticks, the spellbound children sat on their mats are transported to a village under the hot Indonesia sun, to the banks of the glistening river, and down to a crocodile's cave.
Gentle humour, strong acting and absorbing use of song and language make The Crocodiles Gift a winner for children of all ages. Climb on the back of Ibu Crocodile, hold each other's hands, take a deep breath... and embrace the power of courage and kindness.
The Crocodile's Gift runs until 24 December. It is a relaxed alternative for children under 7 who may be too young for the pantomime in the main house.
