Family Fun, free activities and a new playground at Taurus Crafts

The summer season of holiday activities starts on 22nd July at Taurus Crafts. With activities on everyday throughout the whole school holiday there are plenty of options for having a great time and trying something new.
Families can get creative and ‘make together’ with all the materials, tools and experts on hand to take the stress out of keeping the kids busy. Some of the regular activities run for free or simply for donations only, so there is something to suit families on a budget too. The sessions are all published on Taurus Crafts website so you can plan your visit in advance or join their mailing list to get regular updates and find out first about what’s on when.
The whole of the family can get involved and test their hand-eye coordination with circus skills workshops led by Grant Brookes who returns to the area following his success as lead singer in a ‘Frozen’ production at Euro-Disney. Experience an up-close encounter with a range of reptiles and find out more about these fascinating creatures with Black Rock Reptiles. Learn how to communicate with babies in a ‘sing an sign’ taster session, book ahead and learn how singing fun songs can teach babies and toddlers to use simple sign language. Master Stone Mason Carrie Horwood opens her workshop to all in a series of ‘have-a-go at stone carving’ sessions which start from only £5.00. The ancient craft of candle making is also an option in the activity programme, using a simple technique and a pre-prepared wick the candle dipping is a rewarding experience and you take home your own rainbow coloured candle.
Making crystal jewellery, painting pots, a magic show, making pots, creating sand art, and clay play complete the range of the paid for sessions delivered throughout the school holidays. For those looking to get creative and keep an eye on the budget the free sessions on offer provide an excellent opportunity with, Wendy’s workshops, puppet sessions, a free DIY art Activity and a free fun letter trail with prize draw.
Taurus Crafts play area is in line for a grand reopening just in time for the School Summer Holiday. The area will triple in size and feature fantastic climbing area, woodland tower, slide, bridge & tunnel, nest swing, up and over bars, ropes, mini climbing wall, see saw, instruments and colourful play-lawn. The new play area is adjacent to the café’s patio so it’s easy to enjoy coffee and a cake and keep an eye on the fun.
