The ARB Show returns to celebrate the world of tree care

The UK’s biggest tree care event, The Arb Show, is returning to its home within the stunning setting of Westonbirt, The National Arboretum from 12th – 13th May 2023, promising a wonderful day out for all those with a passion for trees.
It’s no secret that trees are good for us, providing a wide range of environmental, social and economic benefits to us all. Yet not everyone knows about the profession responsible for these trees: arboriculture.
Do you work as an arborist and want to meet up with fellow professionals and hear about some of the latest tree care techniques? Do you fancy a career looking after trees and want to find out what an arborist does? What is it like to have a job climbing trees?
Not to be missed; the 'UK Open Climbing Competition' offers an enthralling spectacle as part of the show, with entrants from all over the UK and Ireland making it a great chance for visitors to learn about expert climbing arborists and see their skills in the canopy. Knot tying and throwline competitions will be open to all, so you can also put your skills to the test and see if you have what it takes to make it as a master arborist!
There will also be treasure hunts, guided walks, climbing demonstrations and outdoor activities for all ages – including children’s tree climbing, giving budding young climbers a chance to give the ropes a go.
This year, the Tree Care Forum also takes place, as part of the ARB Show, offering a programme of talks and activities showcasing the importance of arboriculture and the tree care community. An ideal forum for both tree care professionals and those of us simply wanting to find out more about tree care whilst surrounded by some of the world’s finest trees! Expert speakers will share knowledge on everything from tree diseases to ancient trees.
Working with Westonbirt Arboretum, the Arboricultural Association has developed a new showground layout to enable exhibitors and visitors to make the most of the incredible venue. The show will also feature some of the biggest industry brands and the latest innovations in arboriculture.
Arboricultural Association CEO John Parker said:
“We’re thrilled to be back at Westonbirt. The ARB Show is our biggest single opportunity to bring together our industry and the public, who have such a keen interest in trees. The importance of tree care is not fully understood, and many people will be unaware of the existence of the tree care profession.”
Hannah Ward, Events Manager at Westonbirt Arboretum says:
“This event will shed light on the great work we do here at Westonbirt and the importance of arboriculture in protecting and caring for our trees around the world. Whether you’re already a professional or you are a tree enthusiast, this two-day event has something for all ages and everyone to enjoy.”
Along with learning about and celebrating the latest in tree care, show-goers can enjoy exploring the stunning trees within the award-winning Westonbirt Arboretum, which is home to five national tree collections and 140 champion trees.
