Winner of the 2008 'Gloucestershire at its Best' photography competition

Winner of the 2008 'Gloucestershire at its Best' photography competition After much deliberation Explore Gloucestershire with the expert help from Jane Baker and Oli Davis from Cotswold Weddings are pleased to announce the winner of the 2008 'Gloucestershire at its Best' photography competition.

Photographers were invited to submit photographs capturing the essence of Gloucestershire. There was a mixture of entries but overall the standard was very high, but after a tough decision, David Gamm from Dursley was the winner for his magnificent view taken from Stinchcombe Hill looking towards the Tyndale Monument (pictured above right).

Not only will David's photograph appear in the 2009 Explore Gloucestershire magazine soon to be available (order your copy now for delivery late March), but David will receive a cheque for £250.

Other highly commended photographs included an old abandoned boat at Purton in the Severn Estuary by Sandra Prowse, a scene at Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway at Toddington Station by Paul Boucher and a quintessential image of the Cotswolds taken by David Meredith (all pictured below).
