Everyman Theatre Cheltenham celebrates a standout pantomime season as Robin Hood delights audiences and raises £30,000 for a major new community hub

is celebrating the end of a hugely successful 2025-26 pantomime season, following the triumphant run of Robin Hood and His Merry Men. Closing to glowing audience reviews, the production has been widely praised as one of the theatre’s strongest pantomimes to date.

Running from November 2025 to January 2026, the festive favourite was enjoyed by more than 45,000 audience members. Feedback consistently highlighted the spectacular set and costumes, the talented cast, and laugh-out-loud comedy written by Samuel Holmes and Nick Winston, reinforcing the show’s place as one of Gloucestershire’s most-loved Christmas traditions.

Beyond the stage, the season has delivered an equally impressive legacy. Thanks to the generosity of pantomime audiences, £20,000 was raised towards the theatre’s ambitious new community project, the Everyman Education Centre at Grove Street. Further fundraising through the national Big Give Christmas Challenge and bespoke Robin Hood and theatre merchandise added another £10,000, bringing the total raised to £30,000.

Scheduled to open this spring, the Everyman Education Centre at Grove Street will become a permanent home for the theatre’s award-winning education and community work. The new space will support people of all ages and backgrounds to connect with the arts, improve wellbeing, and build confidence through creativity. With Phase Two of the redevelopment now underway, the pantomime fundraising success means the theatre has officially reached the halfway point of its £1 million appeal.

Mark Goucher, CEO of the Everyman Theatre, commented:
“The Grove Street Education Centre is the most important project the Everyman has undertaken since the theatre’s major refurbishment in 2010. Thanks to the incredible support shown by our audiences this pantomime season, we are already making real progress towards opening a dedicated new space in West Cheltenham that will significantly increase access to the arts for young people and communities across Gloucestershire. To reach our £1 million fundraising target and bring this vital project to life, we are asking for continued support and donations from those who are able to help.”

Looking ahead, the theatre has already announced its 2026-27 pantomime, with Cinderella set to take to the stage next Christmas. Tickets are now on sale from just £12, with audiences encouraged to book early for another festive season of family entertainment.
