The Curious Incident comes to the Everyman Cheltenham in 2027

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time Everyman Cheltenham

Hit stage production The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time heads to Cheltenham’s Everyman Theatre with TV favourites Charlie Brooks and Joe McFadden leading the cast

The acclaimed stage adaptation of Mark Haddon’s best-selling novel will visit the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham from 19 - 23 January 2027 as part of a major new UK tour.

EastEnders star Charlie Brooks and actor and Strictly Come Dancing winner Joe McFadden will play Judy and Ed in the new production, adapted by award-winning playwright Simon Stephens and directed by Ned Bennett.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time follows gifted teenager Chris Boone, whose brilliant mathematical mind helps them navigate a mystery after a neighbour’s dog is found dead. What begins as an investigation soon uncovers deeper truths about family, trust and independence in this gripping and emotional coming-of-age story.

The production first premiered at the National Theatre in 2012 and became a global phenomenon, praised for its groundbreaking staging, emotional storytelling and innovative theatrical design. The play has since been seen by more than five million people worldwide and won seven Olivier Awards and five Tony Awards.

Charlie Brooks said she was “thrilled” to join the production, describing the story as full of “heart, humour and humanity”, while Joe McFadden called the play “brilliant, moving and uplifting”.

The Cheltenham performances form part of an extensive UK tour which launches at Birmingham Rep before travelling across the country throughout 2026 and 2027.
