The Donnington Way | Cotswolds Pub Walk Trail
The Donnington Way is a 62-mile circular pub walk through the Cotswolds, created to link traditional village inns connected with Donnington Brewery ales. The route is divided into 15 pub-to-pub sections, allowing walkers to join at any point and choose distances that suit their time and ability.
Almost 90% of The Donnington Way passes through Gloucestershire, with additional sections crossing into Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Oxfordshire. The trail follows established public footpaths and bridleways wherever possible, offering a scenic journey through classic Cotswold countryside and rural villages.
All rights of way have been walked to confirm their existence on the ground, ensuring a reliable and well-planned route. Detailed maps are available for each of the 15 sections, with OS Outdoor Leisure 45 covering the entire walk for those seeking additional navigation detail.
Some Donnington Inns along the route offer bed and breakfast accommodation, making the walk ideal for multi-day adventures as well as shorter food-and-drink-led walks. Together, the route provides a flexible and rewarding way to explore the Cotswolds on foot.
