About Taurus Crafts
Taurus Crafts is a vibrant visitor centre where you can see a wide range of arts and crafts. Throughout the year, there are opportunities to discover your own creativity, join a workshop including making, decorating and throwing your own pots, jewellery making, knitting, chocolate making, stone carving & puppet making.
As well as being the home to a fantastic range of artisan makers, we run 3 shops with a mixed ability team - see about Susie's Video (also below).
Taurus Crafts Artisan and Craft Businesses
Complementing the Taurus Crafts shops are independent creative businesses including; Jewellery, Picture Framing, Knitting, Leatherwork, Stone Carving, Antiques & Collectibles, Health & Beauty Salon, Chocolate Makers, Glass Artworks, Glass Beads, Local Food & Drink, and Fairtrade Fashion.
Taurus Crafts - Café
Choose from our menu of light bites and lunches made fresh in our kitchen. The recipes for our cakes are much requested but not revealed! Delicious organic tea and full range of locally roasted organic coffee. Local ice cream from Brookes Dairy.
Taurus Crafts - School Holiday Activities
Throughout school holidays we have a fun packed programme of creative, hands-on activities for children ranging in price from £3.50. There are even free activities some days. Regular activities include: Jewellery making, knitting, chocolate making, stone carving, puppet making & pottery painting.
Taurus Crafts - Gift Shop
Our Gift Shop supports local craft workers and artists and features Can Do Creative products made in Camphill Village trust community workshops. Complementing the range of local products, our Home & Fashion Shop offers a range of Fairtrade items to support opportunity in developing countries and this year we have added a brand-new toy, art & craft supplies and stationery shop called ‘Paper & Planes’.
Taurus Crafts - We love art
The work of local artists is available in our Gift Shop and from Picture Cards Gallery & Framing Studio. There are always artworks from local artists displayed in our cafe and Cat’s Eye Carving’s sculptures in our courtyard.
Taurus Crafts - Pottery Activity
Open Thursday until Sunday and during school Holidays, from 11am – 1pm & 2pm-4pm. Our pottery activity offers you the chance to paint your own pottery items from huge selection. Please note items will be ready for collection in ten to fourteen days.
Taurus Crafts - Christmas Markets
The area’s largest Christmas Market over the first three weekends in December – Crafts, Gifts, Art, Toys, Games, Accessories, Wrapping, Collectables, Antiques, Woodwork, Pottery + Local Christmas trees for Sale. Local Choirs and Singing Groups.

What is Taurus Crafts?
Taurus Crafts is part of Camphill Village Trust, a charity supporting adults with learning disabilities. Taurus Crafts provides work and training opportunities for the people we support, developing new skills, building confidence and enabling people to participate actively in the community. We are a centre of excellence recognised for working with people whose needs are not well met through mainstream education and employment programmes.
Visiting Taurus Crafts
- Open daily from 10am - 5pm. Individual shop opening times may vary - please phone ahead to check.
- Free admission, ample parking, disabled access.
- Contact Taurus Crafts for party/group bookings, special events, holiday activities and exhibitions.
- Dogs are allowed on site, except for café & gift shop, it’s at the discretion of the artisan businesses if they allow them in.
