Nature in Art

Nature in Art is unique – it is the world’s only museum dedicated to all kinds of art inspired by nature.

At Nature in Art you will find a truly diverse range of world-class art: displays embrace two and three-dimensional work in all mediums and styles ranging from Picasso to Shepherd; spanning 1500 years, the collection contains work by 600 artists from over 50 countries.

So typically, in addition to a temporary exhibition, you will see watercolour landscapes, contemporary glass, the Flemish masters, modern abstract interpretations, bronze sculpture and even some exotic oriental treasures. With all this variety you are sure to find something appealing that will linger in your memory. You are likely to make some discoveries too!

Meet an artist at work at Nature in Art

Artists from across the world work at the museum during all opening hours between February and November. You may encounter painting, woodcarving, ceramic sculpting, printing, glass-working, textile art, mixed-media work or even another art form. Feel free to talk with the artist whilst they demonstrate their skills.

Explore Nature in Art

With sculptures you can touch, various activities like brass-rubbing and an outdoor play area, we make sure that children aren’t left out. There’s also a tranquil sculpture garden to explore and, overlooking the garden, you’ll find a coffee shop where you can enjoy light meals and home-made cakes. We also provide free parking and a friendly welcome in our gift shop!

The museum offers a variety of short art courses and other events throughout the year, as well as children’s activity sessions during the summer holidays. Please ask for further details.

Close at 4pm in January and February

Situated two miles north of Gloucester on the A38 at Twigworth.

Nature in Art - Admission charges 2025

Castle and Gardens:-

Adults: £7.50
Concession(over 60s and under 16s): £6.75
Under 8's: Free
Family (2 adults and up to 4 children): £20
Discount for groups (15 people or more). For information on group visits - see below.
There is no extra charge for special exhibitions.

Nature in Art - Group visits

Extra services for group visits MUST BE BOOKED IN ADVANCE:

    •    Free introductory welcome talk
   •    Illustrated talks of up to 1 hour available at extra cost
   •    We can arrange a demonstration by an artist (possible extra charge)
   •    Licensed coffee shop serving lunches and teas
   •    We have two wheelchairs available for free use
   •    Visits outside our usual opening times i.e. evening visits or visits on Mondays, are available at no extra charge (minimum number 20)
   •    The average visit time without refreshments but with a welcome talk is 1.5hrs.

Group charges
    •    Group admission charges: £6.50 per person

This charge represents a £1 reduction on the full price adult entrance fee. Full payment will be required on the day of visiting.

Nature in Art - Dogs policy

Only guide dogs for the sight and hearing impaired allowed.

Nature in Art - Disabled access

There is ramped access for wheelchair users. Inside there is a lift and level or ramped access to the garden, art studios etc and wheelchair users toilets.
The museum has two wheelchairs for free loan to visitors who might need them (booking in advance is recommended).
