Cheltenham Devil's Aquathlon - are you up for a challenge?

Cheltenham's Devil Aquathon - are you up for a challenge?

If you have caught the Olympic bug and are looking for an event that will really test your stamina and determination then Cheltenham's Devil’s Aquathlon on Sunday 7 October may be just up your street, or hill!

Sandford Parks Lido in Cheltenham will host the 3rd year of this slightly crazy event where competitors swim 2km then run 10km up to the Devil’s Chimney on Leckhampton Hill and back to finish in the lido grounds. With this year’s Cheltenham Triathlon on 9 September filled to capacity the “Devil’s” might just fulfil your fitness testing desires.  You may think that this is only for the youngsters but think again as one gentleman already entered in this year’s event is aged 72. If you are interested in taking part please visit the lido website on www.sandfordparkslido.org.uk where you can download an entry form or enter online.

The Devil's Aquathlon in Cheltenham is a tough swimming and running challenge which raises funds for two charities and is designed for competitors aged 17 and above who enjoy a personal or team challenge.  The event starts with a 2km swim in the lidos 50m main pool.  The heating to the main pool will have been turned off at the end of our summer season (Sunday 30th September) and the water temperature will have dropped considerably.  Wetsuits are advisable but not necessary. Competitors then run out of the lido and up to the Devil's Chimney on Leckhampton Hill and then return to finish in the lido grounds, a round route of 10km.
