Great Blues – No Bull at Taurus Blues Festival

Taurus Blues Festival

Taurus Crafts hosts its third Blues Festival on Saturday 23rd June and features a whole host of great bands. Top of the bill is Simon ‘Honeyboy’ Hickling, one of the best harp players in the land. He has three decades of touring, a skin tight band and a great line in repartee.

Plus the big band sound of Steve Roux and the Brass Knuckle Band. Following stand out festival performances in 2011, Steve and the guys are one to watch for 2012. Then comes Tommy Allen, described by Paul Jones as ‘one of the most talented songwriter/guitarists to emerge from Britain in a long time’; Babajack, the new standout band on the acoustic circuit; Mumbo-Jumbo are back again this year following the launch of their great new album ‘Life of Riley’.

And kicking it all off at 2pm are the ‘King of the Glass Necked Guitar, Ned Evett all the way from the US. Ned is the world’s primary exponent of this unique instrument and this is a set not to be missed.

Nine hours of excellent music from six really great bands covering the whole breadth of the blues from acoustic to rock, all in the wonderful garden setting of Taurus Crafts in the Forest of Dean.

Featuring camping, fabulous food and drink from artisan producers this small friendly festival is gaining a rapid reputation for excellent value
