New at Go Ape Forest of Dean: Forest Segways

Challenge yourself in the great outdoors this summer at Go Ape Forest of Dean.
With the summer holidays just around the corner, are you wondering how to inject a sense of family fun and adventure into your days out? How about getting active in the outdoors, exploring the Great British countryside and pushing the boundaries like never before! From the treetops to the forest floor, Go Ape offers the best in outdoor activities and invites you and your tribe to conquer nature at its most adventurous, whatever the weather!
To kick off a summer of adventure at Go Ape Forest of Dean, near Gloucester, visitors can experience the thrill of Forest Segways, where friends, families and tribes can spend a fun-filled hour venturing off the beaten track and exploring the forest floor. This one of a kind experience gives riders an adventure with a down-to-earth twist on an all terrain, self-balancing, electric Segway for a safari like no other. All participants are given a full safety brief and must be 10 years old or over and weigh at least seven stone (those aged 10 – 15 years old must be accompanied by an adult).
Go Ape Forest of Dean also boasts an array of challenges spanning the tree tops on our original Tree Top Adventure course. Award winning high ropes, tricky crossings (using ladders, walkways, bridges and tunnels made of wood, rope and super-strong wire) and unforgettable zip wires are among a variety of obstacles and crossings participants can expect to tackle whilst getting in touch with their inner ape.
Adventurers of all ages are fitted with a harness and given full safety training from one of the experienced instructors. After training there won’t be any supervision (instructors won’t be far away though) as all adventurers are responsible for themselves on the course – it’s more fun that way!
Don’t just take it from us; take a look at what one of our tribe has said about their time in the forest: “Very well done. An excellent environment and the right balance between fun and safety.” David – 20th May 2013
