New Independent Eatery Roots + Seeds Opens at Gloucester Docks

Gloucester Food Dock Welcomes Its Twelfth Independent Eatery – Roots + Seeds Café and Kitchen

Officially opening their doors on 8 April, Gloucester Food Dock is delighted to announce the arrival of Roots + Seeds Café and Kitchen, the twelfth independent eatery to join this thriving food destination.

Following the success of their flagship restaurant in Cirencester, co-owners and lifelong friends Toby and Sam are excited to bring their field-to-fork breakfast, brunch and lunch menus to Gloucester Docks.

“We are both so excited to bring our local and seasonal menu to Gloucester and share dishes that highlight some of the amazing producers of Gloucestershire. We’re really looking forward to joining a fantastic food community of like-minded businesses here at the Food Dock.”

Roots + Seeds adds a fresh lunchtime offering to the Food Dock, with light bites, made-to-order ‘grab and go’ options, and satisfying main dishes from their brasserie-style kitchen. Highlights from the menu include Beer Battered Fish and Chips, the Roots + Seeds Cheeseburger with Skin-on Fries, and their signature Sticky Toffee Pudding. A seasonal Specials Board features ever-changing dishes such as Lamb Braised Shoulder and Wild Garlic Gnocchi this Spring.

With a commitment to sustainability and local sourcing, the team uses ingredients grown in their own Kitchen Garden and from suppliers within a 25-mile radius, making Roots + Seeds a true celebration of Gloucestershire’s produce.

Ken Elliott, co-owner of Gloucester Food Dock, commented:
“With this opening, all of the Deck and Quayside spaces are now occupied. Roots + Seeds bring another dimension to the cuisine of the Food Dock along with bags of personality. Their passion and creativity will be a great addition to our growing community. The indoor space is light and airy and a great place to meet for a coffee, brunch or lunch, with outside seating also available in time for the warm weather.”

Located in the heart of Gloucester Docks, Gloucester Food Dock is a great place to eat out in Gloucester – a vibrant hub for meeting friends, enjoying time with family, or celebrating with work colleagues in a stylish and welcoming waterside setting.
