Westonbirt, The National Arboretum in Gloucestershire has launched a brand-new digital walking trail, perfect for summer explorers and those looking for things to do in the Cotswolds. Created in collaboration with Go Jauntly, the ‘Silk Wood’ digital walk is free to use and full of rich stories, photos and fascinating insights into one of Westonbirt’s most historic areas – a woodland traced back to 1292!
This easy-to-follow digital trail is available on the Go Jauntly app, an award-winning walking and nature connection app. Visitors can enjoy the walk offline too – ideal when signal is low. The trail delves into the history, conservation, and restoration of this ancient woodland, including the ongoing response to Ash Dieback, with over 6,700 trees already replanted thanks to local community support.
