Agatha Christie's The Hollow comes to The Everyman Cheltenham

The Hollow Cheltenham

Agatha Christie's gripping mystery The Hollow comes to The Everyman Theatre Cheltenham in March 2027

Fans of classic crime drama can look forward to another unforgettable theatrical experience as Agatha Christie's The Hollow arrives at The Everyman Theatre Cheltenham from 2 - 6 March 2027.

Following the success of the acclaimed UK and Ireland tours of And Then There Were None, Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile, producers Fiery Angel reunite with award-winning director Lucy Bailey to bring one of Agatha Christie's most psychologically compelling mysteries to the stage.

This brand-new adaptation by acclaimed playwright Tamsin Oglesby forms part of a major UK and Ireland tour opening in autumn 2026 before arriving in Cheltenham. Casting will be announced at a later date.

Hercule Poirot returns to solve another gripping mystery

Renowned detective Hercule Poirot expects nothing more than a peaceful countryside retreat. Instead, he finds himself drawn into one of the most unsettling investigations of his career.

At The Hollow, an elegant country estate, a glamorous gathering of family and friends appears idyllic on the surface. Beneath the refined surroundings, however, old passions, dangerous rivalries and hidden desires begin to surface. When a single gunshot shatters the evening, Poirot must uncover the truth behind a murder that is far more complex than it first appears.

A celebrated creative team

James Prichard of Agatha Christie Limited said the company was delighted to continue its successful partnership with Lucy Bailey and Fiery Angel following the ongoing success of Death on the Nile, describing The Hollow as a "sharply observed and unsettling drama" that reveals another fascinating side of Agatha Christie's storytelling.

Director Lucy Bailey added that although The Hollow begins as a classic country house mystery, it develops into a richly layered portrait of a family struggling between tradition and change. At its heart is Henrietta, an independent artist whose modern outlook contrasts with the emotional tensions surrounding her, before Poirot is called upon to unravel the truth.

The production is directed by Lucy Bailey, with design by Joanna Parker, lighting by Chris Davey and casting by Ginny Schiller. It is produced by Fiery Angel in association with Agatha Christie Limited and the Marlowe Theatre Canterbury.
